Adequate Advocate

Been a lot of running around lately... both literally and figuratively. I reconnected with a previous acquaintance (parent of a kid in our school) who goes running in the mornings and started joining him every morning at 5:00 am. Hoping to get in better aerobic shape and hoping for a Bible study to develop out of it. Early mornings Also made several trips to hospitals to visit Brother Boateng before and after his brain surgery... and the wife of my administrative assistant, Mr. Marfo, who just had twins. Getting mostly settled back in now!  After a few more days of crazy busy with painting, cleaning, and re-arranging and our home was ready for use - just in time for a new Bible study with a husband and wife couple which we are very excited about. Happy to help paint! Looking forward to more contacts developing into regular studies as well.  Lots of spiritual meat this past week as there was a men's seminar on Thursday-Saturday which was encouraging and full of Biblical discussion and lessons.  It was great to see friends from afar who came in for the seminar and the wives and kids had fun fellowship in our home.  After a great assembly and fellowship meal on the Lord's Day, we started back into the regular routine of school each morning.  Going into the school and hearing a chorus of "Mr. O! Since our return, we've had a bit of culture shock to deal with (as usual) while we try to wrap our heads around the vast economic differences and living conditions.  So many things are much more expensive (furniture, gasoline, electronics, appliances, vehicles) while income is so much lower.  It is a harsh reality.  The electricity is unreliable and coping with the high humidity and heat is a readjustment.  Tropical weather also fosters much more mold and dirt to clean.  Cleaning is another challenge as the city water which we rely on at our rented home has been off frequently.  Curious how we cope when there is no water for several days? Well, the dirty dishes pile up and the laundry starts to mold and cleaning the bathrooms and mopping is put on hold (except for when your toddler tracks poop through the house 😵), but we buy these bags of water to use for hand washing, teeth brushing, filling the water filter to drink, and for showers.  After a day...

From America to Ghana We have soo much to be thankful for! On the 19th of October we set off with our family of 8 people, 23 suitcases (not including personal items), a large double jogging stroller and a baby carrier and began our 30+ hours journey back to Ghana! Flights were smooth except for the fact that half of us were dealing with bad colds. The kids were good travelers and we are thankful everything worked out. We arrived in Ghana Saturday night and spent the night. It was good to be welcomed by Grandma and Grandpa and the Wonder family from Cape Coast. We assembled with the saints in Accra on Lord’s Day morning and headed up to Kumasi that evening. We had some car trouble so it took us a lot longer than we had expected. OSEBREH UPDATE Dear Family and Friends, God has been so good to us, especially these past few weeks with all our health challenges, travels, and hospital visits. We prayerfully decided to make the trip to India trusting that the Lord would provide and He did! God fully provided the cost of travel and medical as well, thanks to the kind generosity of the saints, you all!  We wanted to report back to you with the results of our trip.                          Medical reports Havilah: Praise God Havilah had a successful surgery. She was operated on by Dr. Binu, the same doctor who repaired her left side hernia about 6 years earlier. She is recovering well and is as cheerful and chipper as ever. During the long break from school (summer vacation), we were able to travel and visit some brethren in other parts of Ghana. We were delighted to be invited by the Akolas to go with them to Hohoe in the Volta region for the very first time! We got to encourage the Lantame Family and take part in a mini VBS. Our kids had a blast with their 4 kids and had fun working on the farm and also visiting a waterfall and hiking. We are grateful for the chance to build memories with our kids and between our three families.       God has been so good to us we have had the successful end of another school year! Really appreciate all our staff and students who have worked hard throughout the year through various challenges like power outages, water shortages, and many sicknesses.  At the end of the school year, we had a field trip for each of t he classes. We are so thankful for the mission van we have available to carry the students to the different locations. Kids having fun at KFC (first time for many of them) Nursery I & II kids visiting the airport Kindergarteners having a movie day at 7 Wonders cinema run by fellow workers for Christ! Fun Day at the Botanical Gardens for First Grade and up! Nile and his class officially done with Kindergarten!!! We have been praying towards the construction of a borehole for years now so we can have access to clean water daily. Thankfully God has made it a possibility!!
