Special Days

When there is a long break between updates, it is because things have been especially eventful!  Lots to be thankful for and to be praising God for. We'll update in two posts.
We are so thankful our little Cyrene Rose turned 1 on April 3rd!!! “Rose” is an appropriate name for her as she is truly pretty, sweet, and soft but also has her prickly parts. She’s as precious as could be and loves to cuddle; but boy, does she keep us on our toes! Just the day before her birthday she had her first ER visit after she knocked herself almost unconscious.  She was fine after just a few minutes but it scared us!  After two ER visits in this city in the past few months, let's just say that we are thankful we could get help but we also are very thankful that we have never had a SERIOUS life or death emergency in our family. 😬

She’s strong willed, loves attention, and always makes sure she lets you know her wants or needs in case you forgot. She is perfect! Just who we needed and can’t  imagine life without her! We are grateful to God for His gift! We had a beautiful party and celebration to say "Thank You" to God for her life. Some talented young ladies in the church helped with the decorations and snacks which was a HUGE help.

Praising God for the successful end of our second school term. It was a special day for all the students (and extra busy days before hand!) as we finished up final tests for the term and staff made it special for the students with games and balloons and parents cooked special food for their children.  We are on a three week break and then the last term begins.

Thankful for help to get the container room air conditioned. It has been a big blessing and motivation to the students. Sometimes we have up to 40 kids in there reading, crafting, playing, etc. and it was well-utilized in the last days of the term.

We love volunteers! So thankful for Judah who come to volunteer from MO. He spent individual time with special needs students and helped run the activity center in the afternoons. He also painted the container classroom (activity center) which was starting to rust. We also appreciated his involvement in Family Camp which we will cover in our next update!
