Baby Steps

It has been hard to figure out what to share of the events of the past two weeks.  It has been a tough time...but God is seeing us through.  We praise Him in all things and persevere; but it has been emotionally raw as we had "situations" and incidences to deal with concerning Matthew's mom and his well-being.  We can't help but be emotionally very invested in this sweet five year old after the course of his life has intertwined with ours for the last three years and we care about his mom, too.  She was not in a good state mentally and kept causing trouble at the school.  It came down to her removing all his clothing in the classroom and trying to walk him out of school completely naked.  *Gasp!*  Not good.  So we wouldn't let her do that and had to call in her brother and mother and took him home with us for a week while waiting for them to help with a solution.  We are thankful he could spend time with us and enjoy a carefree time until his mom seems to have swung back into a "good" frame of mind and he is now back with her for this week.  From threats of disappearing with him to begging us to keep him; from shouts and scowls and complaints to smiles and cheerful work; from saying one thing one second and the complete opposite the next minute, she has carried us along on her rollercoaster and we are emotionally weary but hoping for the best and trusting God each step of the way.  Please keep this in prayers.

Savoring and trying to capture the many moments of happy laughter as the kids played.

On a lighter note, our 11 month old Cyrene is WALKING everywhere now!  Such a sweet, big girl!  We are so thankful and blessed!
