Cameroon Picture Blog

We were blessed with the opportunity to visit Cameroon to spend time to encourage Jeremiah and Brittney & family in Cameroon. It was a good change in pace for us and also timely mutual encouragement as well. Though so much happened that it would take a small book to record, here are a few pictures of some of the highlights of our trip.

Getting there was a challenge but we persevered, God blessed, and we finally flew into Cameroon two days behind schedule.

It was wonderful to see our family again and especially for us to all meet the newest cousins on both sides, Gilead and Carys.  Here is Hannah and Gilead, the oldest and youngest of our two families.

Kids having fun climbing the "mountain" that Uncle Jeremiah landscaped.  The cousins had many adventures, fights, hugs, fun, and all-round bonding during this visit!
We enjoyed seeing some sites with the Hostetters who are not only excellent hosts but also quite knowledgable and fun "tour guides".
Our first hike was almost straight up to a beautiful hidden waterfall.

Brittney multitasking- she is one hardworking Mama, amazing hostess, and precious sister!

Although Havilah loves her three brothers, we could see she really enjoyed the time with another GIRL!
While there we were disappointed to have to deal with a lot of sickness while a nasty flu/strep throat bug went around.  Tried treating it with homemade remedies but some still had to get antibiotics as well.  Keeping well in Africa is tough even though we do our best!
We were blessed to tag along to the many preaching opportunities Jeremiah had.  The kids were waiting for a lectureship to begin.  Nile was not well but still was a good trooper!
Driving through a river to assemble with the saints!  You have to try this at least once in your life! :)  Quite thrilling!

Got to witness a harmless tornado.  The mountain they live on is fascinating as the clouds roll in and out all day and give you countless different views of mountain, valley, rivers, and ocean!
 "Kwakoko Bible"- yummy Cameroonian dish
 Exploring the breathtakingly beautiful mountains
 Hiking in such beauty
Rugged Maniac training coming in handy!  Who would have thought?! lol
This was the way the guides had us go (we are not trespassing) :)

After such wonderful times together and bonds of love being strengthened, on our last night in Buea all the kids wanted to sleep together.  It was so hard to say good-byes.  In more ways than one!  Our return flight kept being cancelled and we weren't sure when we would get back to Ghana.
Another canceled flight
Have a good attitude Daddy :)

We did get back to Ghana and have been back to work with so much going on that we hope to update you on all of it soon!
