To Bolga and Back

We were blessed in the month of March to make a trip up North as a family to encourage the brethren in our sister congregation up North. We had a great Men’s seminar and had a very eventful trip. These are a couple of highlights of our trip.
Lots of car sickness - had to stop seven times on the way there.  Okay, maybe this wasn't a HIGHlight, but it did make the trip eventful! :)
We stopped at Ghana's largest waterfall, Kintampo Falls, for a picnic lunch.
The kids longed to play in the water but we were trying to get to Bolga in time for  the men's seminar, so we promised them we would stop and let them play on the way back.
As soon as we got to Bolga, Attah and Zion rushed off to the rocky hills near the Vea Dam for the men's seminar.  Attah was helping with the food and tried to pour the water out of the spaghetti but accidentally dumped it all on the ground right before it was time to serve it!  We washed half of it off and still ate it!  :)
That night we slept on the hot rocks.
Zion was such a great trooper and had a great time!

At the end of the seminar - hot, happy, and holy guys!
Back in Bolga the power had been off all night and day but came on in the evening just in time for us to participate in the Church Youth night which the Akolas host.  You can read more about the great work Adam and Abby Akola are doing in Bolga by checking out their new blog www.akolasinbolga.blogspot.com!!!
The next day, Todd and Francis joined us in the car and we headed back to Kumasi, being sure to stop at the waterfall for an hour of splashing!
We were very thankful to be able to make this trip and for the benefit to the Kingdom that it was - encouraging the Akola family and the congregation in Bolga; toughening ourselves (Attah and Zion) to be able to sleep anywhere, eat anything while sharing the Word with others; and spending time with our family and others in the car on the trip.  We would really love to be able to make more such trips but are going to need a vehicle (the car was borrowed and not very suitable for the long trip with many potholes) to do so.  That is our hope and prayer request right now - that God would provide a vehicle for the use of spreading the Gospel!  We press on!
