Phase II

...And moving on to Phase 2 of our Preparation Plans!
With God's help, I successfully completed the last projects, papers, and exams of the semester; said farewell to my part-time jobs in Elizabeth City; packed up and moved out of our apartment there and headed on the road with my family!

 We are acting in faith that God wants us to return to Ghana to effectively serve Him in His Kingdom there and by faith we are beginning the most challenging phase of our plans - PETITIONING for the monthly support pledges we will need to return to Ghana.  We started May 20th and still need to get our schedule filled.  If you, your church, your small group, friends, etc. would like to see and hear of our work in Ghana please let us know.  We are praying for more speaking opportunities and more open doors. We are confident that God will supply our needs and cause everything to work for His glory and our good!
  It IS challenging (I mean, who LIKES to ask for money?) but it is also very encouraging when we get opportunities to visit old aquaintances, family, friends and make new friends as we travel around the States this summer!  We appreciate so much the generosity of the American brethren and we are humbled when you choose to invest your resources in our efforts to build and expand the Church in Ghana. It is a partnership we take very seriously and are glad God has taught us to be frugal, simple, and diligent stewards of all the funds He entrusts to us. If you want our detailed financials (monthly budget, relocation expenses, percentage of support achieved, etc.) just ask and we can email you a private message.
  This August 24th we are planning to take back a shipping container full of items that will be useful to our ministry. If you or your church family would be interested in gathering (any ladies out there enjoy yard-saling?) or donating items to help fill the container, that would be highly appreciated. Here is a flyer we created to post in Church buildings that has more information about that.
  Exciting news: If you would like to do a fundraiser to help our work and specifically help the brethren in Ghana achieve greater levels of self-sufficiency and propogation of the Gospel, it may be useful for you to know that we have set up a charitable organization (non-profit corporation) called Create Anew International Inc. with a tax ID number for soliciting donations. If you wanted to help with creative fundraisers, that would be awesome!
  More exciting news: we are blessed to have a dedicated individual, Debbie Broyles (Jessica's aunt), and Son Rise Church of Christ now acting as our own forwarding agent and church. A Time to Build Up, Laugh, and Dance

     These past couple of months have been full of many group/Church team-building activities. We were blessed to have friends and family from around the world visiting us through the Christmas time. We were especially thankful for our newly rented home that we could host four families (21 guests) in. It was very busy but everything was merrier being able to do everything together. The men took a trip up north for the annual Bolgatanga Men's Meeting. As usual we camped out in the open up on the rocky hills and had a super time of teaching, preaching, singing, etc.   Afterwards we had our Annual Staff Christmas Party back in Kumasi. God has been faithful to us year after year so we get together as staff and have a little fun and games and food :) , and then individually give testimonies of significant things God has done for us and in us. A Do-It-Yourself Move

Y ou know how moving to a different house can flip your world upside down for a while? Yep!  It's been pretty crazy around here, but we are sooooooo thankful and excited!  We finally got all moved into our new home right next to the school!  Believe it or not, the landlords still haven't finished the plumbing (our water tank still leaks), the electrical work (some parts of the house still need sockets and wiring), or the painting (they did finish inside but the entire outside hasn't been touched) but we had to go ahead and make the move anyway because the summer school break was fast approaching the end!  So far, we are extremely happy with the QUIETER street; more room for the kids and guests; wonderful cool breezes we get here; and being able to pop right over to the school/assembly building to help serve more!  We are beyond grateful and appreciative to all who helped make this move possible! Field Day Fun!

The year of school has drawn to an end with a flurry of final tests, report cards, farewells, and a fabulous, fun final day out in the botanical gardens on the nearby university campus.  What fun it was to be together out in an open grassy field to bring closure to the year of hard work, training, education, and diligent child care.  We especially thank God for the cloud cover which gave shady, cooler weather but didn't rain on us. Get ready! Get set!......... ....And GO!!!!
