Preparation Plans

To return to Ghana as missionaries by September 2012 we have to plan and prepare!  These are our three phases:
Prayer
Petition
Pack!

Right now we are in the prayer phase and invite you to join us!  We have started a prayer group and you can ask to be included (by email or facebook or yes, even snail mail!).  We will keep you updated with pretty regular specific prayer requests of things we will need God's help with to overcome (physically, emotionally, or spiritually) in preparation for and upon return to Ghana.  We know God answers prayers in amazing ways and so we will also rejoice in sharing with you our praises as well!  Here are some of our recent prayer request posts:
"A prayer and a praise. Our hearts have been heavy for a little while now with the news of the death of a brother-in-Christ in Ghana. He left behind a wife (Gloria) and three children, Rahel, Gilbert, and Gifty. The youngest is just three years old. He had been sick for several years with a failing liver but his death still seems so sudden and tragic for his family. Pray for them and for us to be prepared for such needs that face us on the mission field. We praise God, too, though! It is circumstances like this that encourage us in our zeal to return to ministering in Ghana - it has been so encouraging to hear on the phone how the church family in his town, though small (only four families and a few individuals), is taking responsibility to help them through this time and to hear reports that Gloria is a strong woman and showing a great spirit! It is exciting to be part of building such faith and seeing the opportunity for the saints' light to shine in such a circumstance!" - April 13
"Please pray for our family's health. We've got a flu-like bug. It's probably just a twenty-four hour thing and not a big deal, really. It does remind us of the many sicknesses and health challenges we will face once again on our return to Ghana, though. Drug-resistant (basically untreatable) malaria is on the rise and it is especially dangerous for young children and pregnant women. It's a scary thought taking my family back into that danger so we ask prayers for health to stay strong and be effective for Him - now and when we get back to Ghana."  April 17
"here is a recent article about malaria.

what they don't know (but the doctors in Ghana know) is that the drug-resistant malaria has ALREADY spread to Africa" - April 17

"Praise God we're getting better quickly, it seems. Thanks for prayers and how awesome Our God is!!!" - April 18
Join us if you will pray for us!  Please forgive us if you've been included unwillingly and let us know to un-include you if you really aren't interested in being our prayer partner!  :)  We need dedicated partners.  The road ahead is tough enough and we need prayer lifters who will lift us up in prayer and in return we will be your servants in the work of the Kingdom!

Next phase will be PETITIONing.  Probably the hardest part for us - so pray for us to have the boldness and tact and wisdom needed for that!  We will need to PETITION for funds to make everything possible.  We will be asking Churches and individuals for opportunities to share our plans in detail and petition for pledges of support for our return to Ghana.  We daydream about the funds just rolling in without us even having to ask, but..... maybe it will be like that in the future when the Lord's Army as a whole is a little more matured and pro-active and actually seeking out willing harvesters to SEND out quickly and sufficiently equipped... yes, we daydream...but more earnestly we PRAY!   Join us!   God bless!!!
